Very vigorous, flowers in masses, small white 3cm hawthorn-like scented (personally I think it is elderberry blossom). This form has narrow bi-pinnate leathery leaves which make it look evergreen, but it's deciduous! Will easily reach 4m in a season. Hard pruning! (xC) Very nice when planted together w. Cl. viticella. Flowering time here December to February. This type is seen growing in sand dunes in Spain. . . . . . . This species has been blacklisted. In my 20 years of growing this species in NZ, I have only found two surviving related seedlings. Still we recommend autumn pruning to avoid seed-ripening! Cl. flammula needs good drainage and are relatively short-lived; 10 years or so. This species is under threat in Europe.

Is a semi-evergreen species which sometimes is flowering throughout the winter with us, as well as flowering spring and autumn, and often seems to be dormant or semi-dormant during midsummer (often believed dead). This makes them a bit fickle and we find them one of the more difficult plants to survive (we are still learning) Therefore we will only sell this species as a two year plant (premium size). We do NOT replace this species if lost!

This is the rare double seed setting viticella, making it possible to breed new double viticellas from it.

Raised by Brother Stefan Franczak of Poland in 1965 and named after his assistant gardener (Jadwiga Teresa). The cultivar was renamed by Wladyslaw Noll of Poland and introduced into the UK by Jim Fisk in 1980. The flower has received the RHS's AGM. The International Clematis Registrar has said that technically the cultivar should be known by its original name. However, "General Sikorski" is so widespread and so well known that "General Sikorski" will continue to be used.

'Nike' is a Greek winged goddess of victory. In Warsaw, 'Warszawska Nike' is a monument to the heroes of Warsaw 1939-1945; the soldiers and civilian population who fought during the Second World War for the freedom of their home city. It is particularly dedicated to the participants of the Warsaw Uprising (1 August - 3 October 1944). The fight broke out when the Soviet army had just reached the outskirts of Warsaw and its tanks approached the opposite bank of the Vistula. Over 40,000 soldiers of the Polish underground army stood up to fight on the 1st August 1944. Though very poorly equipped, they managed to release about 50% of the capital territory but, since no help came either from the Soviet army (they even stopped attacking Germans in this region) or from the western Allies, after over 2 months of hard struggle, the uprising ended in the defeat. Nearly 20,000 insurgents and 200-300,000 of civil population died, killed by Germans, most of them shot or burned alive. After that Warsaw was emptied and all surviving citizens were sent to concentration camps (source: Szczepan Marczynski).

Large rounded flowers, rich velvety red, with deeper red anthers and yellow stigma. A very fine cultivar. (xC) The name commemorates the heroes (182 soldiers) of the Polish military unit on the Westerplatte peninsula at Gdañsk Bay who held it for seven days against overwhelming odds at the start (1 Sep. 1939) of the second World War.

Flowers pale lilac-blue 12-15cm dia., tepals x6 form a fully rounded flower with wavy edges, anthers dark red. Early to late summer. (xB) Looks great clambering over low shrubs. Nice pale blue Clematis! This is the true W.K. 'Horn of Plenty' is often seen with this name!

Delightful small 4cm bell-shaped creamy flowers on a wintergreen climber, mainly winter flowering beautiful silky seed heads. (xA) "No freckles". Scented, attractive seed heads.

Small, bell-shaped, nodding, pale blue, flowers with yellow-white anthers. The flowers fade somewhat with age.
